Chains API

ETH supply, price and node count

Ethereum's own headline numbers right now: how much ETH exists (circulating/staked/burnt/withdrawn), its USD and BTC price, and the current node count. Ethereum, plus the ETH price on RHC.

GET/api/external/chain-analysis/chain-vitals/{chain}

What it returns

A snapshot of Ethereum-the-network itself — NOT a token traded on it. ethSupply is how much ETH exists, broken into circulating / staked / burnt / withdrawn; every figure is WEI as a decimal STRING (the circulating figure alone is ~1.22e26, far past what a JSON number holds exactly) — never parse these with Number(). priceUsd/priceBtc are the current ETH price, each with its OWN strike time in priceAsOf (the two need not be the same instant). nodeCount is the current count of discoverable Ethereum nodes, dated by nodeCountAsOf (often one UTC day behind "now" — this is a daily crawl, not a live count); a day nothing could be measured is published as null, never a literal zero, which the underlying history feed was measured returning for one real crawler gap sandwiched between two normal days. Every field is null when nothing could be established — never 0, which would claim a genuine zero balance, price or node count. On RHC only the price answers — RHC's gas coin is ETH, so it is ETH's price — and every supply and node field is null. On RHC priceBtc and priceAsOf are null when the price comes without a BTC quote or a strike time. Every other chain in the enum returns 400, because these are facts about the ETH asset and network specifically, not something a BNB or Base request could mean.

Parameters
ParameterDescription
chain

path · string · required

Ethereum or RHC; every other chain returns 400 — these are facts about the ETH asset and the Ethereum network itself, and the wired source structurally rejects the underlying action names outside Ethereum mainnet (verified live: BNB and Base both answer "Missing Or invalid Action name"). RHC answers the price alone: its gas coin is ETH, so it is ETH's price, and ethSupply and nodeCount are null there. priceBtc and priceAsOf can be null on RHC while priceUsd answers.

Response fields

A JSON response. Every field is always present; null means the value could not be established, never zero.
