What it returns

One snapshot of the entire crypto market across all chains and venues: total market cap and 24h volume in USD, the 24h change of the market cap, how many coins and markets are tracked as active, the market-cap shares of the largest coins (Bitcoin dominance among them), and the DeFi slice — its market cap, 24h volume, share of the total and its largest coin. No chain and no subject in the request. Percentages are percent values. defi.sharePercent is computed against this answer's own totalMarketCapUsd, so the two never disagree. defi is null when the DeFi figures could not be read this time.

A JSON response. Every field is always present; null means the value could not be established, never zero.

`activeCoins`	integer \| null	How many coins are tracked as actively trading.
`activeMarkets`	integer \| null	How many exchanges (markets) are tracked.
`marketCapShares`	object[]	The largest coins' shares of the total market cap, largest first (the first is usually Bitcoin dominance). Only the top of the market is itemised: the shares do not sum to 100.
`marketCapShares[].symbol`	string	The coin's ticker, upper-cased.
`marketCapShares[].percent`	number	Percent of the total market cap.
`defi`	object \| null	The DeFi slice of the market; null when it could not be read this time — never a claim that DeFi is empty.
`defi.marketCapUsd`	number \| null	Market cap of DeFi coins, USD.
`defi.volumeUsd24h`	number \| null	Trading volume of DeFi coins over 24h, USD.
`defi.sharePercent`	number \| null	DeFi market cap as a percent of totalMarketCapUsd in this same answer.
`defi.topCoinName`	string \| null	The largest DeFi coin, by name.
`defi.topCoinSharePercent`	number \| null	That coin's share of the DeFi market cap, percent.
