Discovery and markets API

Which blockchains exist, with their EVM chain id and native coin?

Every blockchain coins are issued on: platform id, name, EVM chain id, native coin id and this API's chain code. Reads the platform of coin contracts.

GET/api/external/discovery/chain-directory

What it returns

Every blockchain coins are issued on (about 470), by platform id: its name, short name, EVM chain id, the coin id of its native coin, and the chain code this API uses for it (null when no endpoint serves it). Use it to read the platform of a coin contract, to turn an EVM chain id into a blockchain, or to find a chain's gas coin. For the chains this API itself answers, and which endpoints serve each, see service/chains.

Chains

This endpoint is not tied to a chain: it takes no chain in its request.

Request

Send your key in the x-dex-data-key header. Replace each <placeholder> with a real value.

curl -H "x-dex-data-key: $DEXDATA_API_KEY" \
  "https://api.dexdata.io/api/external/discovery/chain-directory"

Response fields

A JSON response. Every field is always present; null means the value could not be established, never zero.

FieldTypeDescription
chainsobject[]Every blockchain, by platform id, A to Z.
chains[].platformstringThe platform id, e.g. ethereum, binance-smart-chain, solana: the key coin lists contracts under.
chains[].namestringThe blockchain name, e.g. BNB Smart Chain.
chains[].shortNamestring | nullA short name, e.g. BSC. Null for most.
chains[].evmChainIdinteger | nullThe EVM chain id, e.g. 1, 56, 8453. Null for a chain that is not EVM or has none published.
chains[].nativeCoinIdstring | nullThe coin id of its native (gas) coin, e.g. ethereum, binancecoin; coin answers it.
